Rhino Fund Uganda has well trained and informed guides that will guide you through the bush to where our rhino are on the day of your visit. Your guide is there to keep you safe from harm so listening to the safety briefing he gives you is very important.

Nature Walks at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Be at one with nature, its sounds and smells. One of our well trained guides will take you on a walk through our lush bush. Who knows what you will see, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of animals, birds and reptiles. Our guide will share his knowledge of not only the animals but the botany and vegetation as well.

Birding at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Ziwa rhino sanctuary boasts a bird count of no less than 300. We have four bird trails within the sanctuary which cover Woodlands, Swamp and Savannah. Our bird guides are excellent and this is an activity that cannot be missed. Spend a night or two on the sanctuary and enjoy the array of feathered friends we have.

Shoebill Canoe Safari at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

One of the most sought after birds to be seen in Uganda is the Shoebill Stork. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary has these prehistoric looking birds nesting within our swamp. A 6am shoebil canoe safari on the swamp not only gives you the opportunity to find the Shoebill but to see the beautiful Uganda sunrise over Lugogo Swamp.
