World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA)

WAZA is the 'umbrella' organisation for the world zoo and aquarium community.

The goal of the WAZA is to guide, encourage and support the zoos, aquariums and partner organisations of the world in animal care and welfare, conservation of biodiversity, environmental education and global sustainability.

Zoos Victoria

Zoos Victoria has a conservation partnership with us, to protect and eventually re-establish white rhinos in the wild in Uganda in partnership with local communities.

With a clear vision and integration of wildlife conservation goals, community well-being and social development needs, we are the ideal conservation partner for Zoos Victoria in Africa. The new partnership is also an excellent platform to tell stories of the white rhinos at the Ziwa Sanctuary and their conservation significance for white rhinos through the same iconic species at Werribee Open Range Zoo.
